Sac River Trail

This 300-acre Springfield City Park offers over 8 miles of interconnecting single-track that winds through the woods in northwest Springfield. Designed and built by volunteers in June 1996, this trail is very popular with mountain bikers ranging from beginner to advanced skill levels. Parking is available at the trailhead located off Highway 13, three miles north of I-44. Watch for the brown highway sign marking the westbound turn-off. Chadwick

Take 65 highway south from Springfield to the highway 14 Ozark exit. Go east through Ozark, Sparta, Oldfield, and finally Chadwick (don't blink). Buy a permit at Kay's store in Chadwick (it's the only one) and turn south on H highway. You will encounter two campgrounds on the west side of the road about 3 and five miles from the H highway junction, Camp Ridge and Cobb Ridge. Follow the brown forestry signs to the camgrounds. Maps are available at Kay's store, from the Ava Ranger Station, and are often stocked at the trailheads. Trailheads are everywhere. 113 is a good trail that leads out from Camp ridge in both directions, wrapping aropund the day use area parking lot, and will lead you to numerous connectors. From Cobb Ridge you can take 171, the main dirt road, to 101 which starts at a family use area where you will find several trailheads. (source: mtbr.com)

Busiek State Forest Area

20 miles north of Branson Missouri on Highway 65 or 22 miles south of Springfield on Highway 65. Very radical and tough trail with plenty of rocks, toads, snakes, logs, and venomous opossums. Be sure to bring PLENTY of beer, because you will be in pain. There lives a CRAZY 7 point buck that will jump out of the bushes and try to poke you with his horns. There is an area where bed like formations were created millions of years ago by dripping minerals and other stuff. If you're really bored, bring your guns, because there is a shooting range in the same park... no joke! (Review From MTBR.com)

Swan Creek

Go toward Chadwick on Hwy 125. Turn left on T Hwy, take the SECOND UU junction. Drive until you see a very small, easy to miss wooden sign that says "Tin Top Ridge" leading to some old doubletrack. Park here and start your ride. You will soon come to a gate. Ride around it. You are on Trail 6107. Go right when you get to the 6104 junction. Take this until you see 6112 singletrack to the left. Immediate wicked-steep, rocky downhill. (Its time to double back now or find a nice loop on your own!) Get a copy of "Mountain Bike The Ozarks". Real helpful.
